Move More Volunteers: Cranbrook needs YOU!

Jan 31, 2024

Following the success of events including a Santa Run in December, the Move More Cranbrook delivery group is on the hunt for volunteers to help it deliver its exciting programme of events in 2024.

Events include a colour run and family fun day in July, and a series of others all aimed at inspiring the Cranbrook community to be active.

Matt Rowett from Move More Cranbrook who is helping to organise the events, says that the group couldn’t operate without the support of volunteers.

“All of our events are run exclusively by volunteers in the Cranbrook community. Because we all live in or very near to Cranbrook ourselves, it means that we can put on a programme of events that we know people will want to go to.

“In the past we have delivered events such as our Santa Run and Buddy Boost events which have all been lots of fun and were very well received. It is wonderful to see our fellow Cranbrook residents enjoy them so much.”

But Matt says that without the help of more volunteers, there is a risk that the events won’t be able to continue.

He added: “Regardless of whether somebody can give a little bit of time or a lot, we can’t deliver these awesome events without additional support. It’s a great team and we can assure anybody who wants to get involved that they’ll receive a warm welcome and we’d love to have them on board.”

The Move More Cranbrook delivery group is particularly looking for anybody who has experience of running or supporting events, as well as those who have an interest in physical activity. But they say that the most important thing is for their team of volunteers to have a positive attitude, and to be prepared to work alongside others.
