Cranbrook Community Grants Available from January 2021

Dec 26, 2020

From January 2021, people who live in Cranbrook or have a strong connection to the town will be able to apply for funding for community led projects, through the newly launched Move More Cranbrook Community Grants fund.

Cllr Matt Osborn of Cranbrook Town Council said, “We are really pleased to announce the launch of the new Move More Community Grants fund provided by Live and Move, the Sport England Local Delivery Pilot. This fund is aimed specifically at community groups and individuals based in Cranbrook or with a strong local connection to the community or town.

“The purpose of this fund is to offer support and assistance to groups or individuals looking to engage with our residents both financially and in terms of structure and community access, the aim is to increase physical activity and wellbeing and to assist with not only start up funding but also helping put the support and structure in place to maintain the activities long term.

“We have a vibrant and engaging community in Cranbrook which is one of the reasons it was selected as part of the pilot in the first place. Our goal is to enable and empower local residents and groups to have ideas and for us to be able to fund these and support them appropriately. Community ownership is a key cornerstone of this fund and so we would encourage any individuals or groups with ideas to visit the website.

“Throughout the recent tough times we’ve experienced due to COVID, our community has pulled together and shown the initiative and support that demonstrates the potential in the town to make this pilot a success.

“It will be exciting to have some additional funding and support to really see what we can achieve as a community, working alongside Cranbrook Town Council and other parties already delivering key services and funding in Cranbrook.”

You can find out more about what the Cranbrook Community Grants are for and who may be eligible on the website, where you’ll also find information about what assistance is available to support you in the application process.
